FFDC 2024 Virtual Hackathon is an open call, you don’t have to attend FFDC in person. Some geographic restrictions apply.
Projects selection criteria
Submit one core user flow in FlutterFlow that utilizes AI and is aligned with the “for good” theme of creating a positive impact in people’s lives. Each entry will be rated by judges on a scale of 0 to 10 against the following rubric:

FAQ
Are there country restrictions?
Yes. Contest is void in Mexico, Italy, Brazil, Quebec, Crimea, Cuba, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Sudan, Russia, Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk and where prohibited by law. Full terms and conditions at https://hackathon.ffdc.io/official-rules.
Are there age restrictions?
Yes, you must be above the age of majority in the country, state, province or jurisdiction of residence (or at least twenty years old in Taiwan) at the time of entry.
Do I have to register in order to submit my app?
No, you don’t have to register for the AI for Good Hackathon in order to submit your app by Aug 25. We recommend registering in order to get the latest updates about the hackathon and access to new resources.
Does our project have to be published on the Google Play or App Store for submission?
No. You can just send us your FlutterFlow project URL and testing instructions along with a video walkthrough of your project.
Is this open to individuals and teams?
Yes, you can enter this as an individual or work on a project with a team. Keep in mind that if you do this as a team you will have to split the prize money amongst the group. The max number of people per team is 4.
What do you mean by the “for good” theme?
Your project can focus on anything that helps people or the planet. There are some helpful ideas if you check out the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (https://sdgs.un.org/goals) which includes: Climate action, good health & well-being, quality education, sustainable cities and communities, zero hunger, and more.
What do you mean by “submit one core user flow”?
A core user flow is a set of features that together form a single path a user takes to accomplish a specific task or goal, e.g in an e-commerce app, the “Product search and browse” and “Checkout flow” are two different core user flows, among others.
What is the judging criteria?
We are reviewing that you have submitted one core user flow in FlutterFlow that utilizes AI and is aligned with the “for good” theme of creating a positive impact for people and the planet.
Each entry will be rated by judges on a scale of 0 to 10 against the following rubric:
- Impact: What is the project’s potential for positive impact and contribution to the greater good?
- Technical implementation: How effectively has the individual or team implemented the idea using FlutterFlow and AI?
- Design: How well-designed and visually appealing is the project?
- Creativity: How creative is the project’s concept and implementation?
Do we need to have a FlutterFlow Pro account?
No. You would have more access to APIs but you can still participate with the free version.
Is this all virtual?
Yes, this is a virtual hackathon
Will I retain ownership of my project once I submit?
Creators keep ownership of their projects. FlutterFlow’s license is primarily to promote the platform and showcase user submissions. Both non-profit and for-profit projects are encouraged to participate.

Is it OK to submit a project I started before July 29?
Yes, it's OK to have started the project before July 29. We haven't set restrictions on the start date of your project. You just have to use FlutterFlow, submit one core user flow, use AI, and keep in mind the judging criteria of impact, technical implementation, design, and creativity.
